ROVERS AND RANGERS

Rovering/Rangering is a way of life. It’s the seniour wing of Scoung and Guiding. Rovers and Rangers are designed for young adults to continue their personal development through service and leadership. Rovering/Rangering was started by founder of the Scout Movement Lord Baden Powell in 1918.  Any regular student of College/ University between the age group of 15 to 25 years can  be enlisted as Rover (Boy) / Ranger (Girl). A unit consists of 24 Rovers called Rover Crew and 24 Ranges called Ranger Team. Rovering/Rangering is uniformed activity.

Membership

A Rover crew is run under the leadership of Rover Scout Leader and Ranger team is run under the leadership of Ranger Leader registered in college. Any regular male student can join Rover crew and female student can join Ranger Team. If member is exceeding 24 in a unit, a new (Rover Crew/Ranger Team) unit can be formed.

Scheme for Advancement of a Rover/Ranger:

A boy/girl of fifteen years of age can be admied as a Rover/Ranger Aspirant.

• Pravesh: Rover/Ranger Aspirant will work at least for three months to complete the syllabus before investure and called Pravesh Rover/Ranger.
• Nipun Budge: A Pravesh Rover/Ranger will work at least for six months to qualify the syllabus and achieve Nipun badge and cerficate.
• Rajya Puraskar Badge: A Nipun Rover/Ranger will work at least for nine months to qualify the syllabus and achieve State Level cerficate and badge termed as “Rajya Puraskar Rager/Rover”.
• Rashtrapa certificate: A  Rajya Puraskar Rover/Ranger will work at least for one year to qualify the syllabus and achieve Naonal level certificate and badge termed as “Rastrapa Rover/Ranger”.

Rover/Ranger activities:

Crew/team meet to enjoy social activities, fun, adventure, and once-in-a-life-me experience – with a highly flexible program to suit every individual. A true Rover/Ranger strives to serve the community, make life long friend and seize every available oppurtunity. Rovering/Rangering provide varios types of training related to the personality development.
