REPORT ON NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATION Organized by the Department of Science INTRODUCTION: On February 28th, India celebrates National Science Day, commemorating the discovery of the Raman Effect by Dr. C.V. Raman, and the 2025 theme is “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat”. National Science Day (NSD) is an annual event in India observed on February 28th. It recognizes and celebrates the contributions of scientists and the importance of science and technology in everyday life. National Science Day serves as a reminder of the crucial role science and technology play in solving global challenges and improving lives, inspiring young minds to pursue scientific careers and promoting scientific awareness. OBJECTIVES: The primary objectives of the program were: TOPICS COVERED: OUTCOME: The program successfully increased the awareness of how science helps in our daily lives. It encouraged students to learn, explore, and use science for a better future. Encouraged the students to think rationally, embrace scientific thinking, and pursue scientific research and innovation. Also, the program helped the students understand the importance of the collaboration between scientists and students. CONCLUSION: The Significance of National Science Day is not just about remembering a great discovery but also about understanding how science helps in our daily lives. We have witnessed a vibrant display of scientific talent, from ground-breaking research presentations to engaging quizzes that have sparked curiosity in young minds. The participants carried the spirit of scientific curiosity and innovation with them, with the pledge to continue their journey of discovery, knowledge, and progress. This session was a huge success and saw the participation of over 90 students, the Principal, and faculty members, and it was highly informative.
