HUDA NATIONAL ARTS, COMMERCE AND SCIENCE DEGREE COLLEGE D.J HALLI, BANGALORE – 560045 ANTI – RAGGING CELL Topic: “Say No to Ragging – Creating a Safe Campus Environment” DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM INTRODUCTION Ragging is a serious issue that undermines the safety, dignity, and well-being of students, particularly newcomers. It can lead to long-term psychological trauma and disrupt the academic and personal development of victims. In response to the need for increased awareness and preventive measures, Huda National Arts, Commerce and Science Degree College organized an Anti-Ragging Awareness Program on 13th Aug 2025. The event aimed to sensitize students about the legal, psychological, and social consequences of ragging while promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and safety on campus. OBJECTIVES As part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to promote a safe and inclusive campus environment, Poster Painting and Group Discussion events were organized on 13th Aug 2025 to spread awareness about the issue of ragging and encourage students to take a strong stand against it. 1. Poster Painting Competition The event commenced at 13th Aug 2025 with an enthusiastic participation of students from various departments. The theme of the poster painting was “Say No to Ragging”. Participants creatively expressed their thoughts using powerful imagery, slogans, and vibrant colors to highlight the negative impact of ragging and promote a culture of respect and harmony. A number of students took part in the competition. The posters were judged based on creativity, relevance to the theme, visual impact, and message clarity. The best entries were displayed on campus notice boards and common areas to further spread the message. 2. Group Discussion on Anti-Ragging Following the poster event, a group discussion session was held with selected students from different departments. The topic of the discussion was “Ragging promotes bonding among students myth or reality?” Participants shared their views, personal experiences, and suggestions on how to effectively eliminate ragging and foster a supportive campus environment. OUTCOME AND CONCLUSION The events were successful in creating awareness and encouraging dialogue around the issue of ragging. Students actively participated and showed a strong commitment to maintaining a ragging-free campus. The organizing committee thanked all participants and reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive educational environment for all.
